Variables, Expressions and Statements

Notes for using Variables, Expressions and Statements with Scratch
  • Value:  the fundamental "stuff" -- numbers and words -- that a program (Scratch) manipulates.
  • Variable: is a name that refers to a value.
  • Statement: an instruction that a program (Scratch) can execute.
  • Expression: a combination of values, variables and functions.
  • Function: in Scratch, one of the Pill-Shaped blocks, like the x-postion of a sprite; acts as a chunk of mini-code.
