Google Docs to Moodle Assignment - GPresent



  1. Click on the link to open Google Drive and Docs
  2. Open the presentation that you want to submit
  3. Select "File",  then "Publish to the web ...", and then "Start Publishing" (you can ignore the check-box that says "Require viewers to sign in with their Templeton Secondary School account")
  4. In  the "Are you sure you want to publish this document?" pop-up box, select "OK"
  5. You can change the "Presentation size" if you want,  but it is not necessary
  6. It is very important that you change the "Automatically advance presentation to the next slide" from the "every 3 seconds (default)" to "every second"
  7. check both of the "Start slideshow as soon as the player loads" and "Restart slideshow after the last slide" boxes
  8. In the "Document Link" box, put your mouse anywhere on the text and triple-click and the entire link should be selected
  9. Right-click on the selected link and "Copy" (or Ctrl-C)
  10. Select the "Add Submission" button below
  11. Paste (Ctrl-V; right-click doesn't work) the link in the Text box below
  12. Find the part that says "delayms=1000" (1 slide/frame per seocnd) and change it to "delayms=100" for 10 frames a second or "delayms=50" for 20 frames, etc... (if you are using an older version og GPresent (your presentation ends in .ppt),  then look for "interval=1" (1pfs) and change it to "interval=.1" for 10 fps; "interval=.05" for 20 fps,  etc...) 
  13. Put your mouse anywhere on the text and triple-click to select the entire link and Ctrl+C to copy it
  14. Click on the chain (Insert/edit link) button and, in the "Link URL" box/field, Ctrl-V to paste in the link
  15. In the "Target" dropdown field,  select "Open in new window (_blank)"
  16. Click the "Insert" button and your text should now be blue
  17. You get full marks for a working,  clickable, html link
  18. Click "Submit"/"Save Changes"
If you want to try your hand at embedding your presentation:
  • Follow steps 1-7 above
  • In the "Embed code" box, put your mouse anywhere on the text and triple-click and the entire link should be selected
  • Select the "Add Submission" button below
  • Select the "HTML (Edit HTML Source)" button, paste (Ctrl-V; right-click doesn't work) the link in the box below
  • Find the part that says "delayms=1000" (1 slide/frame per seocnd) and change it to "delayms=100" for 10 frames a second or "delayms=50" for 20 frames, etc...
  • Select "Update",  then "Submit"/"Save Changes"
